Goals of the Local Collaborative Innovation Center Project

Collaborative Innovation has become a prominent trend advocating cooperation between the public and private sectors. Addressing public issues and promoting regional development often requires pooling resources and efforts from both sectors. In light of this, the College of Social Sciences, committed to addressing local public affairs and fostering industry development, aims to establish a Local Collaborative Innovation Center with the following project goals:

  1. Fostering Sustainable Development and Enhancing USR Contributions
To support collaboration between public and private organizations in the Yilan region in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to guide businesses in understanding the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. Through collaborative innovation, the center seeks to enhance the university's contributions and performance in University Social Responsibility (USR).

  2. Promoting Sustainable Development Through Cross-Disciplinary Knowledge Integration
By establishing a cross-disciplinary knowledge integration platform, the center will facilitate joint efforts between public and private sectors to address regional development issues. The goal is to rejuvenate the economy, promote social and environmental sustainability, and inspire social innovation in the Yilan region.

  3. Embodying the Boundaryless University Philosophy
Adhering to the university’s “Boundaryless University” development philosophy, the center encourages faculty and students to participate in cross-disciplinary collaborative innovation activities. The aim is to cultivate creative problem-solving skills through co-design and co-production processes.
